Chris has been a member of the Powel family for over two decades and currently serves as the Operations Director for the flagship division of Powell Electrical Systems, Inc. located within the Hobby Area Management District. Chris leads an Operations Team of over 300 members across multiple departments that strive to provide best in class worker safety while delivering quality products on time for Powell’s customers. Powell has customers from all over the country and world on site within the HAD every week approving designs and participating in factory acceptance testing of completed equipment. Chris’s Team is instrumental to Powell’s success in delivering over $200M in products annually.
Powell has two locations within the borders of the Hobby Area Management District that employee more than 1000 people. It is the second largest employer within the HAD after Hobby Airport. Powell is a company that has over seven decades of experience in the development, design, manufacture, and servicing of custom engineered equipment and systems that distribute, control, and monitors the flow of electrical energy. This equipment provides protection to motors, transformers, and other electrically powered equipment servicing the Electric Utility, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas Refining, Terminals, Pulp & Paper, Metals & Mining, and Traction Power Markets.
