To help fill in the gaps, we’ve contracted with Houston Area District Patrol to add extra patrols and security details in areas identified as needing additional support.

Crime prevention is vital for building safer, stronger communities by reducing criminal activity, enhancing quality of life, and encouraging public involvement. Houston’s Keep Houston Safe initiative supports these efforts with resources like neighborhood safety tips, crime data access, and guidance for community action. A key part of this approach is Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), which uses strategies such as natural surveillance, territorial reinforcement, and access control to deter crime through smart environmental planning. Together, these tools help residents and businesses create safer, more resilient neighborhoods.
