Andrew Heber

Vice Chairman

Andrew has been an insurance agent with State Farm for nine years. He is also a real estate investor. He and his wife started investing in real estate around 2007, buying and fixing up single-family homes back when they lived in Indiana. Now he is involved in real estate syndication: finding properties for sale as well as finding investors to be part of the acquisitions. Then he manages the properties for the new owners. In fact, he manages such an apartment complex in the Hobby District. He first became aware of the District’s work when the owners qualified for a District grant to install security upgrades, façade improvements and landscaping at the complex. With two university engineering degrees and a master’s degree in business administration, he said he is trained to ask the right questions about financing projects, such as those the District may want to undertake. Andrew considers Hobby Airport to be a key District asset that gives the board a special distinction and responsibility: “Our airport gives us a lot of incoming and outgoing traffic, people coming here for business. We have an opportunity to help people feel safe when they’re coming into and out of town and give a good impression of Houston. That’s unique to the Hobby District.”
