This holiday season, the Hobby Area Management District is proud to partner with the Houston Police Department (HPD) for the upcoming Bikes & Badges event on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Held at the Southeast Police Station 300 Mykawa Rd. from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the volunteer will distribute 500 bicycles to children in the southeast Houston area as part of a festive community celebration.

The event, organized by HPD’s Differential Response Team (DRT), highlights the district’s commitment to fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. While the event is designed to support families in the southeast area of Houston, there are no strict residency requirements, ensuring that as many children as possible can benefit.

Hobby’s Commitment to Public Safety and Community Bonds

The Hobby Area Management District believes that strengthening bonds between law enforcement and the community plays a critical role in fostering trust, ensuring public safety, and driving economic development. Public safety is a cornerstone of thriving communities, and the district’s ongoing support of HPD’s initiatives reflects their dedication to creating a secure and welcoming environment for residents and businesses alike.
Earlier this season, the district demonstrated its dedication to the community through a $20,000 sponsorship for HPD’s Turkey Drive. This contribution helped provide Thanksgiving meals, many of which were distributed directly to families in the Hobby area. By supporting efforts like the HPD’s Turkey Drive, the district continues to invest in programs that address local needs while fostering positive interactions between law enforcement and residents.
