Graffiti Be Gone: How to Report, Request Abatement

Categories: Community,Projects

Helping business owners and residents maintain and improve property values is integral to making the community an attractive place to live and do business. Part of the Hobby Area District’s service program is executing maintenance and beautification projects in the area to create a welcoming physical landscape that encourages economic growth.

Much like excess litter, graffiti is an eyesore and tends to discourage business from commercial properties. Although your business may be thriving, graffiti tags can signal general decline and disrepair to customers and cause them to fear gang-related crime in the area. The nonprofit organization Keep America Beautiful offers ways to help decrease and prevent graffiti, including documenting and reporting to local law enforcement and quickly removing vandalism when it happens.

The Hobby Area District is proud to provide free graffiti abatement for all assessment-paying businesses in the district. Last year alone, we completed 479 graffiti abatements throughout the community as a service to Hobby area business owners.
